November 29, 1945 – March 16, 2024

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts, that we announce the passing of Lucia Bucco (nee Giancristofaro) on March 16, 2024, at the age of 78. Lucia died peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Pasquale. Cherished mother of Paola Bucco Docherty (Joe Docherty), Giuseppe Bucco. Mother-in-law to Claire Ray. Adored Nonna of Iris Bucco (Dino Salciccioli), Christian Corbett, Martina Corbett, Pasquale Bucco, Joseph Docherty (Vanessa), Julianna Docherty and Jackson Docherty. Bisnonna to Paulina, Jaxson and Luca. Predeceased by her parents Clemente and Virginia Giancristofaro. Lucia will be deeply missed by her siblings Paolo Giancristofaro (Giuseppina Pocetti) and Silvana Giancristofaro (Filippo Pasquini) and many brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

Born in Lanciano, Abruzzo, Italy. Immigrated to Canada with her husband and son in 1968. Lucia was at her happiest when she spent time with her beloved grandchildren. She loved passing down the traditions she grew up with as well as her love for sewing, cooking and gardening.

Visitation Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 10 am at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Ave, Hamilton, ON, followed by the internment at Resurrection Cemetery 254 Garner Rd W, Ancaster.
