Barbara Dawn Niemi
<p>Barbara D. (Thomas) Niemi, 71, of East Greenville passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15th, 2024. She was the wife of the late Richard Niemi. Raised in the Upper Perkiomen Valley, she was the daughter of Richard and Dolly (Ott) Thomas of Pennsburg. She was a 1970 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School. She worked in food service management her whole life. She was a part of the Little Richard’s Concessions family business since she graduated from high school. She also owned and operated the Big Richard’s Restaurant in the Quakertown Farmer’s Market from the 80’s until 2006. For a short time, she also owned a restaurant in Hilton Head, SC.</p><p><br></p><p> Barbara is survived by her children, Melissa, wife of Jeffrey Weidner of East Greenville, and Richard Niemi and his wife Tina of Pine Grove; her beloved grandchildren: Alex Weidner and his wife Kayla of Schenectady, NY, and Jamie, wife of Trent Bradford of Boyertown, Sarah Niemi, Julia Niemi, Ethan Niemi, Caleb Niemi, Michaela Niemi; a Step-son Tyler Neidlinger; great Grandchildren: Rosamund Weidner, Theodore Bradford; siblings: I.V. Thomas and his wife, Christine, and Robin, wife of Donald Laudenslager, and Sandra, wife of David Higman; and her sister-in-law, Renee Thomas. Along with her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Thomas.</p><p><br></p><p> Services will be held privately.
