<p>Burnice Levi Jones, Jr. “Brother”, 85, a native of Taylorsville, MS and a resident of Saint Francisville, LA, died on Thursday, March 14, 2024. There will be a visitation on Monday, March 18, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Saint Francisville from 10:00 am until memorial services at 12:00 noon. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Margaret McBride Jones; four daughters: Mary Esther Jones Bures; Genevieve Jones Burnham and husband Steve Burnham; Margaret Camille Jones; Bethany Jones King, MD and partner Shea King; one sister: Joy Bell Jones May and her husband Bob May, MD; eight grandchildren: Lacey Pearson McGraw (Spencer), Jake Pearson, Matthew Pearson, Nicholas Burnham (Glenna), Brittany Burnham McClendon (Connor), Savannah King, Trevor Bures, and Alyssa Bures, and great-grandson, Luke Burnham. He was preceded in death by his father, Burnice Levi Jones Sr.; his mother, Willie Lee Gambrell Jones; sister Polly Jones Pinson Killough; sister Margaret Jones Woodson; and son-in-law Dan Bures. He received his BS in Business from USM and earned the degree of CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter). He was a Mason, with membership in the St. James Lodge of Baton Rouge. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, General Philemon Thomas Chapter of Baton Rouge. He was a longtime devoted supporter of Wounded Warriors and Shriner Children’s Hospital. But his greatest, most passionate focus was his horses. Starting at the age of 3, spanning the next eight decades where he passed his love for horses and skills in working with them to his daughters, where he devoted much time to the AQHA and LQHBA, winning the 1997 NBHA Senior Division 3D Barrel Racing Champion Belt-buckle, and being the breeder of current racing winners at Louisiana tracks, such as Evangeline Downs and Delta Downs. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors or the Shriners Children’s Hospital. </p>
