Obituary

Gideon Lee Paas, of Charleston, West Virginia, went home to be with his Lord on March 14, 2024 at CAMC Women and Children’s, Charleston, WV. He was born February 22, 2024 in Charleston, WV.

Gideon Lee was named in honor of his maternal grandfather, Teddy Leo Sigman and his paternal great uncle, Kenna Lee. Gideon was only here on earth for a few weeks, but touched so many lives. He was preceded in death by his older sister, Riley Ruth; his maternal grandfather, Teddy Leo Sigman; his paternal and maternal great grandmothers, Ruth Skiles and Bonnie Roberts; and his paternal great uncle, Kenna Lee Skiles.

He is survived by his parents Alexander and Allison Paas, as well as, his older brother Noah Paas, 2 ½ years old. He is also survived by a large extended family that loved him greatly and prayed for him throughout his mother’s pregnancy and while he was being treated at CAMC Women and Children’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The family would like to extend the greatest appreciation and admiration to all staff at Premier Women’s Health Specialists for their prenatal care and CAMC Women’s and Children’s NICU for the work and love that they provided to Gideon throughout his stay.

His parents do not want him to be remembered for the sorrow that his passing caused, but as a bright light that brought joy to others in a harsh world. He was a blessing while he was on earth and his parents look forward to seeing him again in heaven one day.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM., Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Mountain View Memorial Park with Pastor Jesse Waggoner officiating. Gideon will be laid to rest in Mountain View Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that monetary donations be made to CAMC Foundation (ATTN: for the NICU in honor of Gideon Paas). (Jeremiah 1:5)

Bollinger Funeral Home 420 Lee Street, W., Charleston, WV 25302 is assisting the family with arrangements.
