<p>Masako Martin, 90, of Chambersburg, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Chambers Pointe in Chambersburg. Born March 14, 1934, in Nagoya, Japan, Masako was the daughter of Tomonori and Hideno Toyama. Her beloved husband, Elmer W. Martin, preceded her in death on May 24, 2013.</p><p><br></p><p>Masako moved to the United States from Japan to attend nursing school. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at a retirement home in Frederick, MD for many years. She attended St. Paul United Methodist Church with her husband. Masako enjoyed sewing, crocheting and was an excellent cook. Masako was a loving wife, sister, and step-mother. She was a kind and gentle lady.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by five siblings, Toshihiko Toyama, Toichi Toyama, Norihiko Toyama, Sumiko Goto, and Yuriko Kato, all of Japan; four step-daughters, Winifred Shamblin of Orange Park, FL, Lorraine Gladfelter (husband Robert) of Chambersburg, Sara Weller (husband Jeryl) of Chambersburg, and Roseanna Nevius (husband John) of Onancock, VA; 11 step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great grandchildren. Aside from her parents and husband, Masako was preceded in death by a sister, Tamiko Nomura.</p><p><br></p><p>Private graveside services will be held at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Chambersburg, PA. </p>
