Wayne Edward “Eddie” Fisher, 63, of Sissonville, WV., has gone to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 14, 2024 after a short illness.

Eddie will never be forgotten but forever remembered and missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Eddie loved sports and had a great sense of humor.

He worked for the Charleston Gazette-Mail for 23 years. Was the assistant softball and basketball coach and the head volleyball coach at Sissonville High School. He was also the head volleyball coach and assistant softball and basketball coach at Elk Valley Christian School.

Eddie was a graduate of Sissonville High School and attended West Virginia State University.

He was born January 28, 1961 in Charleston, WV. A son of Rex “Butch” and Geneva (Whittington) Fisher of Sissonville. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Aubrey and Nora Fisher and Hershel and Olive Whittington; uncle Tommy Whittington.

In addition to his loving parents those left to cherish his memory include brother, Keith Fisher of Ft. Mill, SC; nephews, Brandon Fisher of Ft. Mill, SC., and Brooks Fisher (Melissa) and daughter, Collins of Peekskill, NY and many other family and friends he loved dearly.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM., Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Fisher Chapel, Kenna with Pastor Kenneth Coon and Rev. Jimmy Casdorph officiating. Eddie will be laid to rest Monday, March 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM., in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.

Family and friends will gather for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service Sunday at the Church.
