Julius Joseph Urbanetti Obituary

Julius Joseph Urbanetti, 93, husband of the late Yolanda (Martorelli) Urbanetti passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2024, at Apple Rehab Coccomo Health Center surrounded by his loving family.


Born in Manchester, CT on October 17, 1930, he was the son of the late Costantino and Lina (Menicocci) Urbanetti. Julius graduated from Manchester High School and Cheney Technical School.


Mr. Urbanetti retired from the State of Connecticut, DMV, and IRS with over 30 years of service. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.


Julius was a charter member of the North Italian Club. He was an avid bowler and pool player. He enjoyed horseshoes, bocce, trips to the casinos, poker games and a good meal. He loved the Yankees, music and he played many instruments. Most of all, he loved his family.


He is survived by his children, his son Dino (Donna Luca) Urbanetti; daughters, Rosalina (Carl) Monarca, Michele (James Curr) Wasef and Laura Urbanetti; his six grandchildren Samantha (Trevor) Rivera, James Wasef, Delaney Ruiz, Selena Lopez, and Carl and Luke Monarca and his great grandchild, Ryan Rivera. He is also survived by his two sisters-in-law, Antoinette LaRosa, and Gloria Martorelli, his two sons-in-law, Kamal Wasef and Angel Lopez as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Peter and Marino (Sheila) Urbanetti, his sisters, Palmira (Joseph) Marinelli and Mary (Frank) Sharples and sons-in-law Edward Ruiz and Brian Kicklighter.


Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, March 20th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish, Mt. Carmel Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
