Nathaniel W Gerald Obituary

Nathaniel Gerald was born on April 10, 1941, to John Allen and Margaret Gerald in Montserrat, West Indies. In his early years he attended St. Peter School in St. Peter, Montserrat. He left Montserrat in 1960 and went to live in London, England, where he met Irene Reid and the two were joined together in holy matrimony on December 7, 1963. They moved to the United States in May of 1968.


He was employed for many years at Westinghouse, and later at MIT from where he retired. When Light Of The World Empowerment Center (formerly Friendship Apostolic Church) opened in June of 1969, Nathaniel was invited to attend and became the first one baptized in the new assembly. He was appointed a Deacon by the late Dist. Eld. Thomas White and later ordained an Elder in the Lord’s church. In 2003 he moved his membership to Greater Bethlehem Temple Pentecostal Church where Bishop Anthony Bennett is the Pastor.


Nathaniel was preceded in death by his parents John Allen and Margaret Gerald; brothers Sampson Gerald, James Gerald, John Gerald, Herman Allen, and Walter Allen; sisters Margaret Roach, Laura Noble, and Edith Sweeney.


He is survived by his brother Thomas Gerald; sisters Sarah Graham, Mary Allen, Yvonne Peters Duberry, Ruth Lewis, and Mary Gerald. He leaves to cherish his memory his children Jennifer Buchanan (Brian Buchanan) and their children Stephanie Buchanan, Stacey Buchanan, Sandy Buchanan and grandchildren Bryan Perry, Christian Perry (Stephanie); Leroy Gerald (Kym Simms) and their children Kaneesha Dallas, Leroy Gerald Jr. and grandchild Sheldon Dallas Jr. (Kaneesha); Wallace Reid (Beverly Williams Reid) and their children Jamar’re Williams Reid, Jada Williams Reid and grandchild Amarre Reid (Jamar’re); Wilfred Reid (Judith Reid) and their children Aaron Reid, Adelia Reid Cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and acquaintances that will continue to celebrate and cherish his wonderful memories.
