Obituary
Teddy M. Locklin, 83, of Coldwater, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis, MI.
A service will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 12 noon at Dutcher Funeral Home of Coldwater with Pastor Mark Case officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11-12:00 at Dutcher Funeral Home of Coldwater. Interment will follow the service at Lester Cemetery.
Teddy was born October 24, 1940, in his parent’s farmhouse in Alagansee Township MI to McCager and Pauline (Quimby) Locklin. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1959. After, he went on to work at GC Murphy’s in Coldwater until it closed in 1980. When Murphy’s Mart closed, Teddy then worked at JC Penny’s in Coldwater, and Ames in Sturgis.
Ted was a former member of the Quincy Historical Society, participating in helping make calendars with historical pictures from the area. He loved history and loved to share his knowledge and stories with others. Teddy collected stamps and National Geographic and Smithsonian Magazines. He also enjoyed traveling throughout the US with family and friends, often travelling with companions on the local bus trips. He also travelled to Germany with his sister Sharon and a small group of friends. You would often see Teddy in the crowd at Tibbit’s, since he enjoyed seeing the shows they put on. Recently he also started volunteering at Maple Lawn.
Teddy is survived by his siblings Sharon Brown of Coldwater, and Patsy Thornton of Sturgis; his nieces and nephews Brenda Francis, Michael (Dawn) Loyd, John Locklin, Jr., Tanda Thornton, Danny Locklin, Brandi Kasdorf, JR Brown and Jody Haylett; and many great nieces and nephews. Teddy was preceded in death by his brothers John Locklin, Donald Locklin, and niece Annette Soderberg.
