VERNON, Margaret Ann

1957 – 2024

Peacefully, surrounded by her family and dear friends Margaret passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on March 12th 2024. Cherished daughter of Norah and the late Eric Vernon. Loving sister of Julia, Angela and Sylvia. Devoted Auntie of Ashante, Ebonay, Tahesha, Shanice, Mia, Roméo,Taylor and Mason. Margaret was dedicated to her faith and active within her church community as a member of the St. Patrick’s Folk Group, Regina Mundi and Most Blessed Sacrament where she mentored while assisting with the Youth Group. Margaret was a Social Worker starting her career in Haldimand Norfolk County then later a longtime employee at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Family and friends will be received at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave. (between Mohawk and Fennell) on Monday March 18th 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish on Tuesday March 19th 2024 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s memory to De Mazenod Door or Hamilton/Burlington SPCA would be greatly appreciated.
