Marlene J. Macri Obituary

Marlene J. Macri, 78, of Union Township passed away the morning of March 14, 2024 at UPMC Jameson.


Born in Youngstown, Ohio on July 21, 1945 Marlene was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose Adams Azara.


On November 11, 1967 Marlene married her beloved husband, Joseph A. “Chuck” Macri. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2023.


In the early years Marlene had worked as an Administrative Assistant for the American Cancer Society and Mother Against Drunk Drivers. She then worked with her daughter Candice at her Optometry Practice.


Marlene was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and had been a season ticket holder since 1970. She also enjoyed going dancing with her husband and traveling. A loving mother and grandmother, Marlene’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.


Marlene is survived by her children, Dr. Candice Macri (Donald Rozman), Chaz Macri (Maria) and Martisse Macri (J. Hall), and four grandchildren, Antonio, Dante, Azai and Meko.


In addition to her parents and husband, Marlene was preceded in death by two brothers, Phillip and Charles (Chaz) Azara and one sister, Frannie Farris.


Visitation will be on Tuesday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.


A Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Richard Nero will officiate.
