Rosalie Battista passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Joe Raso Hospice Residence, New City, NY after a short illness.

She was born Rosalie Duscio to her parents, John and Rose, on July 9, 1936, in East Harlem, New York City. In the Bronx, where she would spend most of her life, she met her beloved Anthony Battista in 1958 and married him on June 5, 1960. Never having had children of her own, Rosalie poured her love into her husband, the nieces and nephews of her blood, and the many nieces and nephews of her heart. Her smiling soul was so abundant with love, that she had plenty left to pour into her community, church, and the multitudes of people lucky enough to meet her. Poet Thomas Campbell once wrote, “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die,” and if that is so, Rosalie is immortal.
