On Thursday, March 14, 2024, Nancy Ann Campbell Holmes of Nixon, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 86. Nancy was born in Nixon on September 3, 1937, the daughter of Clayton and Elois Campbell, who have preceded her in death along with her husband of 63 years, William A. “Bill” Holmes.

Nancy was very active in the community. She was a founding member of Lifegate Church in Seguin, Texas and Methodist Church in Nixon, Texas and served the Lord fervently, The Nixon Bridge Club for over 50 years, Shakespeare Club, Garden Club (Geraniums and Begonias were her favorite) and the President of the Nixon Chamber of Commerce for 4 years. Nancy loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who affectionately called her Nanny. Nancy will be deeply missed by her children, Steve Holmes (Carla), Sheri Holmes Wood (Mike), and Dr. Clayton Holmes (Sherry); grandchildren, Cory Wootton (Tracy), Josh Holmes (Kimberly), Courtney Dean (Stephen), Katie Smith (Thomas), Billy Holmes, and Hannah Holmes Vassion (Jacob), Byron Wood, Elizabeth Padier (Chris), Kelly Stisser (Jason), Daniel Wood (Daisy); great-grandchildren, Cole Wootton, Brodie Wootton, Emma Smith, Leah Smith, Tyler Smith, Citlali Wood, Campbell Dean, Reese Smith, Lily Holmes, Emily Holmes, Jensen Vassion and Arabelle Vassion, Baby Vassion, Mirabeau, Callaghan and Clara Stisser; as well as many cousins and friends who loved her dearly. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 9:00am-10:00am at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

Burial will follow at Nixon Cemetery. Pastor Bob Odom and Pastor Audrey Hewell will be officiants of the services.
