Sylvia (Yoesting ) Jackson, 50 , of Oklahoma City, passed away Thursday, March 14th, 2024 at OU Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Her family was near her side as she left this earth.

Sylvia was born in Loma Linda, California to John and Barbara Yoesting. When she was 5 years old, her family relocated to Oklahoma, and she was raised in McCloud. As a young girl, Sylvia enjoyed all things a young girl does, she never met a stranger She was most interested in her high school sweetheart, John Jackson.

Sylvia graduated from McCloud high School in 1992 and later moved to Oklahoma City. She began working in banking, which would become her lifelong career. For the past 20+ . Sylvia has been a branch manager at First United Bank, and has been with the bank through all of their acquisitions and transitions. She was a staple at the bank and made countless friends and unforgettable memories with her co-workers over the years. In 2019, Sylvia graduated from SNU with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance.

Sylvia loved being a wife and mother and rearranged her life so that she could be there for her family. She always made sure to take care of anything her husband or girls needed.

In her spare time, Sylvia loved spending time with her family. Whether she was traveling, watching John play hockey or cheer for on Ashley at her soccer games, family was the center of it all. Syliva had a few simple pleasures like watching the Golden Girls, listening to the Crime Junkie Podcast, sitting out catching some rays, or just sipping on coffee (which was more of an obsession…) Sylvia just loved living life. In 2018, Sylvia took an interest in jiu-jitsu and really leaned into the sport. She liked showing off her moves playfully if a friend tried to give her a hard time for being vertically challenged. Most recently, Sylvia took a trip to Ireland with her dearest lifelong friend, Michelle, which was one of her favorite experiences in her life.

Sylvia will always be remembered for her big smile and warm heart. She would light up a room wherever she went. Syliva will always be the love of John’s life. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through the lives she touched.
