Everett Leon Landrum of Cleora, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on March 13, 2024, at the age of 85. Leon was born on January 31, 1939, in Big Cabin to Clifton L. “Laurence” Landrum and Edna Mayme (Dixon) Landrum. He attended Longview School and then Big Cabin School, where he graduated in 1956. Leon married his sweetheart Bonnie Ellen Krueger on November 15, 1958, in Wichita, Kansas. He worked for Gas Service Company in Wichita and then transferred to Miami, OK in 1968. On August 17, 1975, he was ordained to the gospel ministry by the Big Cabin Baptist Church. Leon was a pastor, but also through his passion to help young people, He and Bonnie served several years as house parents for the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children. They also welcomed many young people into their life and home throughout his 50-year ministry. Leon was adventurous and loved to travel which included numerous mission trips. Through his mission work, pastoring, and evangelism he mentored and touched the lives of many people. Leon was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing, especially pheasant hunting. He also loved good horses and participated in roping and rodeos throughout his life, including the Cheyenne Frontier Days. Aviation was also a love of Leon’s, and he owned and piloted his own airplanes.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton “Laurence” and Edna Landrum, brother, Edward J. “Jack” Landrum, infant brother, Clifton L. Landrum, and a sister, Lila Ruth Walker.

Leon is survived by his wife Bonnie, son Craig Landrum and wife Debbie of rural Langley, OK, daughter, Deanne Morgan and husband Arthur of Afton, OK, four grandchildren, Brett Landrum and wife Gina of Owasso, OK, Clint Landrum and wife Kylie of Bentonville, AR, Brad Morgan and wife Cody of Afton, OK, Keri Ramsey and husband Chey of Fairland, OK. Ten great-grandchildren, Logan and Rylee Landrum, Leyton and Asher Luginbill, Luke and Emma Landrum, Garret Morgan, Mesa Ramsey, Carter, and Dawson Ramsey, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel.

The celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the Cleora Baptist Church, Pastor Scott Dickerson and Jesse Kincade will officiate, Bob Whitchurch will lead the music.
