<p>James W. Logan, Jr., 87, of New Castle passed away the morning of March 14, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.</p><p><br></p><p>Born in New Castle on January 22, 1937, James was the son of the late James W. Logan, Sr. and Priscilla Mann Logan.</p><p><br></p><p>James is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-four years, the former Mary Exposito.</p><p><br></p><p>James had retired from B &amp; O Railroad as a brakeman operator.</p><p><br></p><p>He had proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War Era. James was also a member of Highland United Presbyterian Church for fifty-years. In the early years James had played on the church softball team.</p><p><br></p><p>James was an avid New Castle sports fan and enjoyed attending the football and basketball games as a season pass holder many years. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, James’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his wife, James is survived by his children, Jeff Hardesty (Christine), Jack Hardesty and James Hardesty (Mal Sun), his sister, Mary Lou Ross (George), three grandchildren, Brittany and Robbie Hardesty, and Laura Reino (Antonio), three great-grandchildren, Lucy Hardesty and Giada and Sonny Reino.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Logan, his sister, Carol Timblin, his daughter-in-law, Diane Hardesty and his granddaughter, Amanda Hardesty.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be on Monday 3:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Ed &amp; Don DeCarbo Funeral Home &amp; Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Full Military Rites at 4:45 p.m. at the funeral home.</p><p><br></p><p>A Funeral Service will follow the visitation on Monday at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. William Exposito will officiate.</p><p><br></p><p>Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
