<p>NETTLETON – James “Travis” Hester, 51, died at his residence in Nettleton on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. He was born March 7, 1973 in Tupelo, MS to the late Mirl and Charlotte Nash Hester. Travis was a lifelong resident of Nettleton and Lee County. He worked as a master carpenter. He loved life to the fullest. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and washers, shooting pool, throwing hatchets and axes. His most favorite past time was spending time with his beloved dog, Wicked, which he loved so much.</p><p><br></p><p>A service celebrating Travis’s life will be held at 6 PM on Monday, March 18, 2024 at the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo. The family will receive friends from 4 PM until service time on Monday. For those unable to attend the service will be live streamed at https://www.hollandfuneraldirectors.com/live-streaming/live-streaming beginning at 6 PM and archived thereafter.</p><p><br></p><p>Travis is survived by his three children, Brett Hester, and Jessica Murphy, both of Nettleton, and Erica Terry of Loma, Montana; two sisters, Carol Stafford (Gary) and Deborah Hughes (Tony), all of Nettleton; several grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
