<p>Donald Bruce Owensby, 72, of Swannanoa passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Owensby was born May 18, 1951 in Buncombe County to the late John P. and Agnes K. Owensby.</p><p><br></p><p>Donald was a veteran of the United States Army and Navy serving 21 years and was an avid fisherman and hunter. </p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, John W. Owensby.</p><p><br></p><p>Donald is survived by his sons, Donnie, Robbie and Lawrence Owensby; sisters, Dana Hunter and Mary Anne Riddle; brothers, James D. Owensby (Sarah) and David Ray Owensby (Brenda); and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. </p><p><br></p><p>Burial with military honors will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. </p><p><br></p>May 18, 1951 - March 12, 202405/18/195103/12/2024

Donald Bruce Owensby, 72, of Swannanoa passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
Mr. Owensby was born May 18, 1951 in Buncombe County to the late John P. and Agnes K. Owensby.
Donald was a veteran of the United States Army and Navy serving 21 years and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, John W. Owensby.
