Gertrude Louise Hoeft, known to most as Trudy, longtime resident of Fraser, died peacefully March 13, 2024. She was 98 years of age.

Trudy was born on October 31, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Louis and Minnie (Tanner) Oeshslin. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Warren August Hoeft, on May 2. 1948 in Our Savior Lutheran Church of Detroit. The couple made their home in Detroit until moving to Fraser in 1985. Trudy dedicated her life to her family providing the most loving home with Christian values. The family enjoyed their camping trips; and especially enjoyed their summers in Lexington at their cabin off the coast of beautiful Lake Huron, making so many fond memories. Gertude and Warren enjoyed many years of square dancing, and both were members of the St. John 55+Club. Trudy enjoyed sewing, oil painting and looked forward to the warm summer months tending to her beautiful flower gardens. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Ladies Guild, the LWML, and of the Merry Widows Club. Trudy also enjoyed cards and would lead many card clubs along the way. Above all, she loved her Lord and Savior, and walked the faith. Trudy loved her girls and granddaughter and cherished her time in their company. She will be deeply missed, and her light will continue to glow in our hearts forever.

Gertrude is the loving wife of the late Warren; dearest mother of Marlene Hoeft and Denise (David) Humenny; cherished grandmother of Camille; and dear sister of Paul Oechslin.

Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Wednesday from 2pm – 8pm. A funeral will be celebrated on Thursday at 11am with additional visitation starting at 10am at St. John Lutheran Church. Share memories with family at www.faulmannwalsh.com
