Flossie Fox, age 99, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on March 13, 2024 at IU Health Hospice House. Flossie was born on June 21, 1924 to the late Ira and Ilah Routen.

Flossie worked as a supervisor at Crane Naval Base and later part time at McDaniel Furniture in Bloomington.

Flossie was a loving wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend to countless people. Flossie loved spending time with family and friends at Lake Lemon in the summer and St. Petersburg, Florida in the winter.

She became quite the golfer with not one hole in one, but two that she would talk about timidly when asked. Flossie also loved playing bridge and gin rummy with her friends.

Flossie and Clyde were long time members of First Christian Church in Bloomington.

Flossie was loved by all that knew her. She will be missed by her sons, Jerry (Ann) Fox, Jim (Helen) Fox, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Kate Mitchell and friends.

Flossie was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Ilah Routen, husband, Clyde Fox, son, Jeff Fox, great-grandson, Braydn Fox, sister, Margaret Byers, and brother, Marvin Routen.

Visitation for Flossie will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 with the service immediately following at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana. Burial will be at Clear Creek Cemetery. Pastor Kyrmen Rea will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made in Flossie’s name to First Christian Church in Bloomington, or the American Cancer Society.
