Robert J Stock

Robert J. "Bob" Stock, 87, of North Huntingdon Twp., passed away March 9, 2024, at home. He was born March 18, 1936, to the late Paul E. and Agnes T. (Holleran) Stock. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. Bob was retired from the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, West Mifflin, PA, where he worked in the facilities department for 44 years, as a plumber, pipe fitter, and finally a scheduler. In his 70’s he decided to work part-time and was hired by Cleaveland/Price Inc. deburring switch pieces for them. He was a member of St. Agnes Church, of Irwin, and a member of the church men’s club. Bob served as the football and basketball coach for St. Agnes for many years and then was a PIAA basketball official for almost 40 years. He was also a volleyball official in the Golden Triangle Chapter for over 10 years. He also coached baseball for PAL, for his local neighborhood Ridge Road team. He was still officiating and had games scheduled to officiate the week of his passing. In addition to his parent’s, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy B. (Bowers) Stock in 2016; three brothers, Paul, Richard, and Charles; and three sisters, Rosemarie, Theresa, and Kathleen. Bob is survived by three children, Nancy A. Stock, Robert A. Stock (Elizabeth), and Jeffrey R. Stock; two grandchildren, Jake Stock (Elizabeth), and Eric Stock; a sister, Veronica Schad; as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM in the OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin 724-863-8900. Parting prayers will take place in the funeral home Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in the St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon.
