Diane Ruth Gargano Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Diane Ruth Gargano (née Thorpe), who passed away peacefully on March 12, 2024. Diane's life was a beacon of love and warmth, touching the hearts of all who knew her.

Diane was the beloved wife of Peter V. Gargano, with whom she shared 60 years of cherished memories. Theirs was a love story that stood as a testament to devotion and mutual respect. As a mother, Diane was a guiding light to Jill Brown and Todd Gargano, instilling in them the values of kindness, perseverance, and love. She took great joy in her role as a grandmother to Matthew, Alexandra, and Joshua Brown; Gianna, Marissa, and Vance Gargano. Her love for her grandchildren was boundless, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Diane was predeceased by her brother, Ernest Thorpe, Jr. and her brother-in-law, Charles Gargano, and is survived by her brother-in-law, Andrew Gargano, and sister-in-law, Anna Garvey. She was a beloved aunt, leaving behind numerous nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her wisdom, humor, and endless support.

To her friends, Diane was a source of unwavering friendship and joy. Her presence was a comfort and her laughter a gift that will be dearly missed.

A gathering and memorial service will be held at the American Legion Hall Post #130 in Perry Hall on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, with a service at 1:30pm. Interment will be private.

In the spirit of Diane’s life, a life that exemplified compassion and generosity, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made. Donations can be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, aiding those in need and nurturing hope for children facing life's most challenging battles. Additionally, memorial contributions can be made to a local animal shelter of your choice, reflecting her love and care for animals and the joy she found in our furry friends.
