<p>Mary Galloway Brotherton, age 67, of Clarkesville, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024.</p><p><br></p><p>Born on March 10, 1957, in Fairfax, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late James Weldon Galloway and Angie Lee Odom Galloway. Mrs. Brotherton loved her job at Scovill and retired after 43 years of loyal service. She was known as a very loving and giving person in the community who had concern for others. She took joy in donating to various charities, including humane societies, the Masons, the Shriners, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Mrs. Brotherton enjoyed nature and was of the Methodist faith.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stan E. Brotherton; brothers, James Ralph Galloway and Donald Edward Galloway; and sisters, Shelby Jean Kimbrell and Shelia Jane Harrington.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include her brother, Andrew “Andy” Galloway of Canton; sisters and brothers-in-law: Maxine Galloway of Cornelia, Pat Elsea (Harold) of Columbus, Martha Williamson (Henry) of Clarkesville, and Muriel Dawn Butts of San Antonio, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>No formal services will be held, per her request.</p><p><br></p><p>An online guest register is available and may be viewed at www.mcgaheegriffinandstewart.com.</p><p><br></p><p>MCGAHEE-GRIFFIN &amp; STEWART FUNERAL HOME OF CORNELIA, GEORGIA (706/778-8668) IS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
