Marvin Smith, Jr. age 77 died March 10, 2024 at Mobile Infirmary. He was born July 4, 1946 in Thomasville, AL to Marvin W. and Ella Mae Smith. He was retired from MacMillan Bloedel, Inc. and pastored several Baptist churches in the area.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Smith; son, Mark Smith (Renee); daughter, Sherry Smith McGilberry; granddaughters, Cassidy McGilberry, Madison Smith, and Riley Smith; grandsons, Jonah Smith (Erin) and Sasha Smith; and sisters, Audrey McKinley (Mike), Janet Pongerayter (Paul), and Anita Bender (Danny).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Ella Mae Smith; grandmother, Etta Jane Harvell; sisters, Glenda Dailey and Evon Bedwell; and grandson, Jacob Smith.

Visitation will be held at Friendship Baptist Church on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 9:00 am until the 11:00 am service time with Bro. Clay Davis and Bro. Leon Parnell officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
