Richard T. Ambrosi

<p>Richard (Dick) Ambrosi, 86, passed away on March 12, 2024 following a prolonged illness. He was born on January 13, 1938 in Rockville, Connecticut son of the late Eleanor Milanese Ambrosi and Bruno Ambrosi. Richard leaves behind his brother, John Ambrosi, Sr. of Viera, Florida. His niece, Laura Ferguson of Moodus Connecticut. His nephew, John Ambrosi and wife, Judy Ambrosi of Kissimmee, Florida, and his deceased nephew, Michael Ambrosi of Ellington Connecticut. He also leaves many close friends, Loraine Gillmartin of West Hartford, John and Barbara Meskill of Kensington, Connecticut, Peter Fisher of Scottsdale, Arizona, Brent and Roseanne Gottier of Tolland, Connecticut, Diane Woolfridge of Aurora, Colorado, Wendy and Kurt Schwab of Switzerland. He lived most of his life in the Rockville/Tolland area until later, living in Granby, Connecticut. After high school, Dick went to Bryant College in Providence, Rhode Island, then went to work for the Democratic state Central committee. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort San Houston Army Hospital after returning to the DSCC he went to the division of special revenue for the state of Connecticut gaming commission until he retired as an assistant unit chief in 2003. Richard was an active member of the Hartford golf club as he enjoyed golfing and also curling with the West Falmouth curling club. Richard's passions was entertaining skiing and traveling specially abroad. Relatives and friends may join the family on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 10am to 11am at the Burke Fortin Funeral Home.
