Graveside services for Virginia Dunn, 80, of Murchison, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2024, at Allen Cemetery near Murchison, Texas under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dunn passed away peacefully on March 8, 2024.

Virginia Pearl Dunn was born May 22, 1943, in Athens the daughter of James Leo Spivey and Maudie Pearl (Fletcher) Spivey. She was a Baptist by faith, a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed cooking, but her true joy was taking care of her family. Granny will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many and will be greatly missed by all she touched.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her son Jerry Dean Glassgow and two sisters, Juanelle Brown and Lilly Beth Yarborough.

Survivors include her husband Lawrence Owens Dunn of Murchison; two sons, Larry Dunn and wife Leslee of Athens, Terry Dunn and wife Tricia of LaVernia; brother Jerry Spivey and wife Linda of Cayuga; four grandchildren, Abby Dunn, John Dunn, Clayton Dunn, Dr. Sarah Dunn-Osborne and husband Ryan and one great grandchild Owen Dunn.

Larry Dunn, Terry Dunn, John Dunn, Clayton Dunn, Chad Spivey, Randall Browning will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Yancy Miller, Mark Tillison, Tommy Morse and Tony Baker.

A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
