Eugene J. Piotrowski

Eugene J. Piotrowski, 92, of Suffield, peacefully passed away on March 11, 2024, at Baystate Medical Center. Born and raised in Enfield, Connecticut, Eugene was the son of the late Joseph and Caroline (Siuda) Piotrowski. He made Suffield his home for over 30 years.

Growing up in Enfield, he helped his mother and brothers run and operate the Piotrowski family's Meadowbrook Dairy Farm. After serving in the military, Gene began his career at Pratt and Whitney later as a design draftsman at Hamilton Standard, and PTR in Enfield. His dedication and expertise left a lasting impact on those he worked with. Eugene was a man of faith, having been a former communicant of Saint Adalbert Church and later becoming a communicant of Saint Patrick Church of St. Jeanne Jugan Parish.

Eugene served his country honorably in the United States Army as part of the occupational Troops in Austria after World War II. Beyond his professional and military duties, he found joy in UConn basketball, skiing, gardening, fishing with his brother Donald, and offering guidance to many Polish families who immigrated to Connecticut. Eugene leaves behind a legacy of kindness and dedication. He will be missed for his abundance of handyman services and will always be remembered for his unique sense of humor and his love of all creatures great and small.

He is survived by his sister, Irene Jaskot, of Middletown, sister in law Mona Piotrowski, and beloved friend Eric Bugajski along with numerous nieces and nephews. Eugene was preceded in death by his siblings, Stephen and Donald Piotrowski, Eva Pira, Alfonsa Tenerowicz, and Wanda Kenenski.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Leete Stevens Enfield Chapels, located at 61 South Rd., Enfield. Eugene's family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Committal will follow at St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery.
