Obituary
~~~~~~~~~~
Donna passed away peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on March 9, 2024, in her 72nd year, with her family by her side. Although her time in sickness was brief, her spirit, tenacity, and sense of humour persisted until the end.
Donna is survived by her husband, Jack, of 34 years, and their loving cat, Whisky, followed by their daughter Rebecca Gill, son-in-law Dominic Carrozzi, son Jonathan Gill, and daughter-in-law, Miranda Gill, in addition to multiple, loving ‘grand-pets’ who held a special place in Donna’s heart. In addition, Donna was survived by her brother Charles Bak and predeceased by her sister Nancy Bak.
Donna met Jack while driving for a taxi service in Brockville; they have been inseparable ever since. Her zest for life and positive attitude followed her throughout her endeavours. She was a dedicated stay-at-home Mom, and she touched the lives of her community through church and personal relationships.
Donna was happiest in her garden, feeding her birds, and cooking food for others. She felt the most fulfilled when taking care of other people through food.
A memorial service will commence at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland, ON at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 15, 2024. A reception will be held afterwards from 1:30-3:30 pm. All are welcome to both the service and reception.
Donna’s family is grateful for the excellent care provided by Brockville General Hospital’s Palliative Care program, and Bayshore Home Health. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Brockville District Hospital Foundation's Palliative Care Unit.
Send a message of condolence or share a special thought of Donna on the memory wall above.
