<p><p>Eugene Lee Robbins (“Gene”), 85, died Tuesday, March 12, 2024, surrounded by family.</p><p><br></p><p>He was a retired electrician, a patriotic American, and a loyal father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Born in Enid, Oklahoma, he was the son of a WW2 veteran father, the late Elvis Jake Robbins (“Popo”) and his beloved mother, Mary Ruth Robbins (“Grams”).</p><p><br></p><p>Gene (“Papaw”) was fond of hunting, fishing, boating, and riding his Harley; he enjoyed the great outdoors of America and was proud of his native Oklahoma. He loved his family and was a dutiful caretaker for both his aging parents after he retired in 2002. His dogs, Twister and Sable, were his faithful companions for many years thereafter. He cherished his Enid High School classmates, gathering with them annually for reunion celebrations. Riding his Harley-Davidson to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota after retirement with former high school buddies was a favorite lifetime memory.</p><p><br></p><p>His career spanned the western United States beginning in Oklahoma and ending in Denver, Colorado. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over 50 years and was highly respected for his skill and hard labor. Gene will be remembered by his family for his integrity, his thrift, his sense of humor, his persevering spirit, his artistic abilities, his wood-working and leather-crafting projects, and his desire to see the job done with excellence.</p><p><br></p><p>Gene was preceded by his first wife, Karen Francis Robbins Delanoy of Frisco, TX and his former wife, Jan Karel Robbins of Greer, SC. He is survived by his sister, Linda Robbins Dorman of Houston, TX., his son Brady Lee Robbins (Jana) of Tulsa, OK; two daughters, Laura Lee Robbins Hawley of Claremore, OK and Lynda Robbins Duncan (Melton) of Greer, SC. He delighted in his 8 grandchildren: Aubrey Lauren Robbins of Tulsa, OK, Tyler Chance Robbins (Kathryn) of Bixby, OK, and Faith Alexandra Robbins of Tulsa, OK; Tyler Troy Hawley (Alexa) of Owasso, OK, Taylor Gene Hawley of Claremore, OK; Melton Ledford Duncan, Jr., Frances Marian Duncan, and Mary Elizabeth Duncan, all of Greer, SC; and his great-grandchildren Hudson Chance Robbins, Jackson Tyler Robbins and Sophia Kathryn Robbins all of Bixby, OK; and Jensen David Hawley of Owasso, OK.</p><p><br></p><p>A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, 12.00PM at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore, OK.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, benevolences can be made to the Ark Animal Hospital of Claremore, OK.</p><p><br></p><p>Condolences may be made to the family by visiting ricefuneralservice.com.</p></p>

Eugene Lee Robbins (“Gene”), 85, died Tuesday, March 12, 2024, surrounded by family.


He was a retired electrician, a patriotic American, and a loyal father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Born in Enid, Oklahoma, he was the son of a WW2 veteran father, the late Elvis Jake Robbins (“Popo”) and his beloved mother, Mary Ruth Robbins (“Grams”).
