Gordon Cecil Collins passed peacefully away on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 83.

Reunited with his devoted wife of 53 years in heaven, Lily.

Left to mourn with fond memories, sons; Vance (Sonya), Shane (Tammy).

Granddaughters, his pride and joy, Shyanne (Ryan) and Jessalyn. Great granddaughter, the apple of his eye, Estelle Lily.

Siblings, Mike (Rita), Frank (Mona), Gene (Rebecca), Donna (Stan), Perry (Kay), and Sheila (Adam). In-laws Kay, Fred (Marjorie), Eileen, Mike (Margaret), Roy (Betty), Cliff (Marilyn), Joyce (Spencer), Colleen (Howard), and Lindsay (Lynn), as well as a large circle of family and friends

Gordon was born to Gordon and Rachel (both deceased) in Hare Bay on December 17, 1940. He was a hard working man who spent many years logging and working on the saw mill with his father and brothers.

He loved growing vegetables and puttering around in his garden over the years.

Visitation will take place at Oram’s Funeral Home in Dover on Thursday, March 14th, 2024 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm

Funeral will take place on Friday, March 15th, at the Salvation Army Church in Hare Bay at 1pm.

Service will be live-streamed to Oram’s Funeral Homes Facebook Page.

The family of the late Gordon Collins would like to thank the staff of the Medicine Unit at James Paton for the exemplary care given to him and the kindness shown to his family during a most difficult time.

They would also like to thank his home care workers, Sharon and Emma.

Many thanks to our family and friends for their support over the last month and special thanks to Uncle Frank and Aunt Mona for all of the help, for being there with us, and for being there with him when we couldn’t.
