Richard M. Wagner, 87, of Middletown, Pennsylvania entered into eternal rest Sunday, March 10, 2024, at his home in Middletown surrounded by his friends and family.

Richard was born in Middletown, Pennsylvania on February 11, 1937, to the late Pearl (Espenshade) & Frank Wagner.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by the love of his life, Betty (Thomas) Wagner whom he married in Elizabethtown, PA on February 11, 1982., his siblings, Frank Wagner, Jr., Ronald Wagner, Ruth Campbell, Jane Wagner, Betty Brown, Pat Baum, his nieces and nephews Wendy Lyons, Robert Campbell, Jay Campbell and Sally Vorodi.

Richard is survived by his nieces and nephews; Karen (John) Charles, Cheryl (Brian) Edgcomb, Mike (Mary Ellen) Baum, Donna (Phil) DiDonato, Jack (Linda) Brown, Linda (Mike) McKinne, Sue Dupes, Greg (Lynne) Campbell, Gwynne (Konrad) Maiwald, Judy Middleton, Tim and Chris Wagner.

Richard was Christian by faith and often attended the Open-Door Bible Church in Middletown, Pennsylvania. Richard was in the United States Navy for 4 years and was on board the U.S.S. Forrestal, an aircraft carrier. Following the navy, Richard was an Electrician for 31 years at Armstrong World Industries. A fond memory of Richards was working at the Milk Bar on Union Street in his younger years as well as his four-legged best friend, Sammy his pet Dachshund. Richard was also an avid woodworker.

A visitation will be held for Richard on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Matinchek Funeral Home, 260 East Main Street, Middletown, PA, 17057 from 10 A.M. until the time of service.

A Funeral Service will be held for Richard on Monday, March 18, 2024, with Pastor Sam Bereza at 11 A.M. at Matinchek Funeral Home, with Burial immediately following at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville, PA 17003 at 1 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be sent in Richard’s name to the Open-Door Bible Church, 200 Nissley Road, Middletown, PA, 17057
