<p>Joseph L. Walter Jr., age 79, of North Huntingdon, passed away on Monday March 11, 2024 in the VMAC Oakland. Joe was born on December 17, 1944 in Braddock the son of the late Joseph L. Walter Sr. and Mary Kathryn (Yeager) Walter. Joe was retired from WABCO in Wilmerding and the WABCO Rubber Plant in Greensburg. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member the VFW Post 781 of Irwin, the Italian Miners Society of Hahntown, and the Shafton Volunteer Fire Co. Social Club. Joe’s love for the outdoors included hunting, fishing, gardening and sitting on the back porch watching the birds, deer and other wildlife. He was also an avid coin collector. Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Myrtle M. (Riggs) Walter, his grandson Nick McGinnis and his sister JoAnne Lott. Joe is survived by his children Charlie McGinnis and his wife Shelly of Middleton, MD, Pat McGinnis of Junction City, KS, Kathy Lust and her husband Brian of North Huntingdon and Stacey Williams and her husband Tim of North Huntingdon his grandchildren; Renee (Branden) Humerick, Ryan McGinnis, Derek and Maura Lust, Brandon (Erin) Wood, and Cameran and Haley Williams; and his two brothers William Walter and Patrick (Mary) Walter. Friends and family will be received on Thursday from 2-4 &amp; 6-8 PM in the Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 805 Pennsylvania Ave, Irwin 724-863-8900. A funeral blessing service will be on Friday at 9:30 AM in the Ott Funeral Home chapel. Interment with military honors will follow in the Union Cemetery, Irwin.
