Constance "Connie" A. Dougan Obituary

Constance (Alaimo) "Connie" Dougan, 82, of Windsor Locks, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Amberwoods of Farmington. She was the beloved wife of Charles Dougan, with whom she shared almost 61 years of cherished companionship.


Connie was born on February 22, 1942, in Hartford, CT, to the late Matthew and Angela (Cavaleri) Alaimo. Throughout her life, she epitomized love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to family. Connie spent the majority of her years in Enfield before making her home in Suffield and later Windsor Locks. She graduated from Our Lady of the Angels Academy, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with faith and love.


A devout Catholic, Connie was a communicant of both St. Patrick Church in Enfield and Sacred Heart Church. She was the heart and soul of her family, a true matriarch who took immense joy in cooking delicious meals, cheering for her grandchildren on the sidelines, and creating cherished memories with her loved ones. Connie also enjoyed travelling her with her close circle of friends, sharing laughter and joy wherever she went.


In addition to her husband Charles, she is survived her daughters, Margaret Pappas and her husband Don, Marcia Moore and her husband Reeve; her grandchildren, Tara Sullivan, Nicholas and Alexander Pappas, Ian and Jenna Woods, and Hunter and Mcgovren Moore; her dear sister, Esther Alaimo of West Hartford; her brothers, Charles "Chic" Alaimo of Ellington and Matthew Alaimo, Jr., and his wife Susan of Punta Gorda, FL; a sister-in-law, Janet Varrick and her husband Bob, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her cherished grandson Joe Sullivan and her sister, Joyce Frangiamore.


A Mass of Christian Burial in memory of Connie's life will be celebrated on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Road, Suffield, CT (Please meet at Church). Burial will follow at St. Patrick King Street Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
