Marianne Jean Michaux Obituary

Marianne Jean Michaux, daughter of Marion Jacob Michaux and Jean Wright Michaux, was born on January 11, 1945, and peacefully went to be with her Lord on March 8, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family who represented a few of the many lives she touched.

Born in California, Marianne's journey led her family to Texas before settling in Colorado Springs during her childhood. It was there that she embarked on a lifetime of service and dedication to education. She graduated from Wasson High School in 1963 and went on to earn her BA in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado, followed by her MA from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.

Marianne came to a saving knowledge of Christ while in her teens and that formed her view of how to spend her life investing in eternal values.

Marianne's teaching career spanned decades, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of her students. Commencing in the Security School System, she later devoted 35 years to the Colorado Springs Christian School, where she passionately taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. Her students fondly remember her engaging teaching style, which not only imparted knowledge but also instilled a love for learning and the Word of God.

Even after retiring from CSCS, Marianne continued to share her passion for education. She generously taught adults, supported homeschool teachers, and provided piano lessons to neighborhood children. Her commitment to nurturing young minds and sharing the Good News about Jesus Christ extended far beyond the traditional classroom.

Marianne's faith and love of her Savior Jesus Christ was a guiding light throughout her life, and her active involvement in Northeast Bible Chapel reflected her deep spiritual connection. She led Women's Bible Studies, hosted Home Bible Studies with young ladies, and shared her beautiful voice in worship, blessing the church community. Despite a lifetime of chronic pain, Marianne lived a full life of love and service to the Lord, embodying the values of compassion, resilience, and grace.

Affectionately known as "Aunt Mariannie" by her family, Marianne is survived by her devoted brother, David Michaux, and his wife Lynn. Her memory lives on through her niece, Sara Michaux Larson, with husband Christopher, and their children Joanna and Jack Vannice, Manda Larson, and Lydia Larson, as well as her nephew Brian Michaux, with wife Shannon, and their children Emma Michaux and Timothy Michaux. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Marion and Jean Michaux.

Services for Marianne will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Northeast Bible Chapel 1722 McArthur Ave. Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80909.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Camp Elim, 5567 Painted Rocks Rd. Woodland Park CO 80863, reflecting Marianne's lifelong commitment to education, service and love of children. May her legacy continue to inspire others to choose to follow and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
