Daniel “Dan” Joseph Moran, age 66 of Seymour, entered into peaceful rest on March 11, 2024 at CT Hospice, Branford. He was the beloved husband of 40 years to Ellen-Ann (Greywacz) Moran. Dan was born February 16, 1958 in Derby, son of the late Joseph and Janice (Childs) Moran. He was a longtime Seymour resident and was the owner of Daniel J. Moran Construction; he also later was employed as a Property Manager at Employment Options of Middlebury. In addition, he and his family were also former owners and proprietors of the Whittemore Ice Cream Shop in Seymour.

Dan was a devout Catholic, attending both St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Oxford and St. Catherine of Siena Church in Trumbull. Dan enjoyed summer family trips to Naples, Maine spending time on Brandy Pond and Sebago Lake. He was also fond of skiing, golfing and motorcycles. Dan was well known by all to be able to fix just about anything. Fondly known as Papa Dino to his grandchildren, he will be remembered for the times spent watching all their activities from dance recitals to hockey games.

In addition to his beloved wife Ellen, Dan leaves his loving family including his sons, Ryan Moran (Elizabeth) of Sandy Hook, Christopher Moran (Patti) of Oxford, and Kyle Moran (Tash) of Prospect; his grandchildren, Gavin, Connor, Cecilia, Dean; his siblings, Kathleen Osteyee (Don) of Oxford, Susanna Bria (William) of Seymour, Elizabeth Katchmar (Scott) of Beacon Falls, Joseph Moran (Carol) of Seymour, and Patrick Moran (Bea) of Clinton; his grandpups, the late Kevin, Bailey, Roy, Brady, and Tod; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Road, Trumbull at 11:00 AM (DIRECTLY). Interment will follow at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
