Passed away in his home on Thursday, March 7th, 2024. Born in Truro, Nova Scotia on September 11th, 1938, David Malcolm Moore of Annan, was in his 86th year.

Predeceased by his parents, Yuill and Greta Moore. Beloved husband of Suzanne Moore (nee Nowak) and their two children Bradyn and Haley. Proud father to Shadoe (Holly), Darlene (Dan), Cairn (Jeffrey), and his predeceased children Barry and David Jr. all from his life together with Myrna. Loving grandpa of Josh (Diane), James, Chelsey (Steve), Alyxx (Michael), Cyra and Tamir. Cherished great-grandpa of Carter, Hudson and Everly. Dear brother of Gary (Marilyn) and Janice (Warren) and predeceased siblings Ron (Grace), Glen and Karen (Robert). David will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.

David referred to his education as attending the “School of Hard Knocks” and had a long and successful career in the steel industry. When he found he couldn’t really retire because sitting still wasn’t in his nature, he started his own company to challenge his mind and soul. He was a fierce competitor on and off the ice, golf course or ball diamond. He was the guy you wanted to have on your team, because it was better to play with him than against him. His love for travel provided him with a collection of stories to tell, and he recently recorded these adventures so he could share his experiences with his family. David was an enthusiastic mentor who loved to share his earned wisdom, and there wasn’t a problem he thought he couldn’t at least try fixing. He was affectionately known as “The Plan Man”.

He will forever be remembered when we hear a Gordon Lightfoot song, tune to a HABS or a Blue Jays game, or witness that exact moment when the sun sets for the evening on the beautiful bay he loved so much. We are left with a heavy heart but take great comfort knowing he is now at peace.

In keeping with David’s wishes, there will not be a funeral. A private family celebration will be held at a future date. He will be released into the Bay where he built his legacy and found true happiness. The picture we chose depicts the feeling he had when sailing the open seas. Pure joy!
