<p><br></p><p>Donald Lawson Conrad Sr., 71, a native of Kentucky and resident of Vacherie, Louisiana passed away on March 9, 2024.</p><p> A visitation will be held in his honor on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie, LA from 9AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. The burial will follow in the Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church Cemetery.</p><p> He is survived by his loving wife, Geralyn Oubre Conrad of 49 years; daughter, Kamie Conrad Borry (John); son, Donald “T-Don” Conrad, Jr. (Dionne); sister, Darlene Conrad Dryer (George); brother, Tommy Conrad (Joy); grandchildren, Haydn Dempster (Cole), Kamryn Borry, Cailyn Borry, Brittin Conrad, Laila Conrad, Dallan Conrad, Emily Alexander; great granddaughter, Acelyn Dempster; sisters-in-law, Janet Conrad, Sonia Adams (Earlis), Karen Savoie (Donald), Susan Stein (Murphy), Dana Hymel (Harold); brothers-in-law, Deacon Ricky Oubre (Mabel) and Jessie Oubre Jr. (Susan); godchildren, April Yarbrough, Mandy Folse, Hope Ockman and a host of nieces and nephews.</p><p> He was preceded in death by his son, Darr Conrad; father, Merlin Conrad Sr.; mother, Lily Mae Simoneaux Conrad; stepfather, Joseph R. Reulet; brother, Merlin Conrad Jr.; father-in-law, Jessie Oubre Sr. and mother-in-law, Madeline Becnel Oubre.</p><p> Don served his country in the United States Army. He was an avid NASCAR fan, attending many races, most of them after retiring from Zachry Construction Incorporated.
