<p><p>Wanda Arzilla Rains, affectionately known as Arzilla, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 10, 2024, in Claremore, Oklahoma. Born on July 24, 1932, in Mayes County, Oklahoma, Arzilla's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and spirited energy that touched everyone she knew.</p><p><br></p><p>Arzilla was a beacon of light in her community, known for her loving and gentle nature. Arzilla was the cherished daughter of Lydia Mae and Edmond Harding, both of whom preceded her in death. Her life was marked by a joyful marriage to her beloved husband, J.H. Rains, on August 6, 1951. Their marriage lasted just shy of 57 years upon his death on July 20, 2008. Together, they built a family foundation that would stand the test of time. Arzilla's legacy continues through her devoted daughter, Glenda Mae, and her husband, David Francis, her son Eddy, and his wife, Susie Rains, all of Claremore. Arzilla was also the proud mother of her late son, Johnny Leroy Rains, and cherished daughter-in-law, Mary Rains of Vinita.</p><p><br></p><p>Arzilla was the proud matriarch of a large and loving family, including her eight grandchildren: Richelle Dunlap and her husband Bob of Vinita, John Francis of Gentry, Arkansas, John Rains of Vinita, Jenny Rains, Ashley Pryor, Jarett Rains, Blake Rains, and Shelby McCurdy, all of Claremore. Her joy was multiplied with the arrival of each of her seven great-grandchildren: Cody and Colton Francis, Kelcie and Kaleb Henderson, Jaxen Rains, and Jaxon and Emma McCurdy. The family circle grew even wider with the birth of her four great-great-grandchildren: Noah, Cash, Wrenley, and Liam.</p><p><br></p><p>A graduate of Ketchum High School, Class of 1951. Arzilla's work ethic was as strong as her spirit. She held various jobs throughout her life, but her most notable role was at McDonnell Douglas, where she worked for 19 years. Arzilla was an original "Rosie the Riveter," exemplifying the strength and resilience of her generation. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her dedication to her family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Arzilla's interests reflected her nurturing soul. She was an exceptional cook and baker, known for her delicious meals that brought the family together. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
