Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Eric Morrow on March 8th, 2024 at the age of 95.

Memories of Eric(there are quite a few):

here are just some we are sharing with you;

He was a farmer, born on the farm he lived on for 95 years, raising crops, cattle, chicken, hogs and 5 children. Man did he love that farm!

He loved to work, at his successful excavating business or at the hundreds of projects he had going on the farm, from sun-up ‘til sun-down and beyond. He always found a project, straightening nails, sorting scrap metal, fencing (not the sword type), and gardening; does anyone know why he planted so many potatoes? Let’s not forget about ‘his girls’, not his daughters, but his chickens that he cared for every day until a few months ago. He was happiest driving his Gator with a dog by his side. Strangely that is how we could find him, look for the Gator or his dog.

A dynamo over the years, he never stopped: falling trees, milling them to erecting buildings, root cellars, or whatever was needed. Sometimes he was ‘MacGyver’, developing tools to help with the task at hand. Sometimes he was the ‘Energizer Bunny’ powering through with broken bones, surgeries and even a fractured neck. For those of us who knew him most, you may find us referring to him as ‘Rambo’, he didn’t slow down for anything, it was “good enough for now”.

A father, a grandfather and great grandfather, he had been married to the love of his life, Bettye, for 67 years. Now he can join her while still being lovingly remembered by Howard, Dan, Barry, Sally, Bonnie, the extended family and friends.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Donations in Eric’s memory may be made by cheque directly to Temiskaming Hospital (421 Shepherdson Road. Temiskaming Shores, ON – P0J 1P0) or by going online at https://www.temiskaminghospitalfoundation.org
