Betty Lou Sluder, 87 of Winchester, VA, passed away March 9, 2024 at Sunrise of Rockville in Rockville, MD.

Betty was born September 13, 1936 in Mountain City, TN; daughter of the late George Dayton and Mary Ellen Taylor Jenkins. She worked for the City of Winchester until her retirement in 1992.

Betty married Herbert Lamar Sluder, July 17, 1959 in Mountain City. He preceded her in death, September 6, 2012.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Gayle Santiago and son-in-law Andre Marvin Santiago and grandsons Garrett Dean Santiago and Alec Logan Santiago, all of Rockville, MD; brother, Edsel Claude Jenkins and sister-in-law June Jenkins of Bristol, TN; sister, Edith Mae Jenkins of Shady Valley, TN and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester, Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be Friday, March 15, 2024 at 11:00 at Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Kristin Whitesides officiating.

A second visitation will be Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 12:00 – 1:00pm at Mountain City Funeral Home in Mountain City, TN with graveside following at Blevins Cemetery in Shady Valley, TN.
