Betty May Ferrell-Kelley, 81 of Charleston died March 11, 2024 at Charleston Health Care Center after a long illness.

Betty May grew up in Peytona, WV. She cherished her friends and times spent at Sherman High School, Class of 1960. But what she loved the most was swinging on the front porch of the Bradley Homeplace in Peytona, talking with family, radiating laughter and love. She held all of her friends in her heart with the deepest love and adoration.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Virginia University with a degree in Home Economics and was a member of the Spokes Honor Society. Her career started as a Home Service Agent at Hope Natural Gas and progressed to an Area Manager for Columbia Gas, where she retired.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Dennie Middleton and Indra Bradley Ferrell.

Suviving are sister: Lynn (Richard) Clendenin of Charleston, niece: Paige (Patrick) Clendenin Rawlings of Charleston, great nephews: Jackson Thomas and Blaine Leonard Johnson and many other family members and friends.

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to Debbie Montague and her caregivers at Charleston Health Care Center.

Memorial service is 2 p.m. Thursday March 14, 2024 at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet with Minister Donald Pauley officiating. Interment of ashes will be in Bradley Family Cemetery, Peytona at a later date.
