Fort Edward

Samuel “Sam” Baldwin, 66, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the Glens Falls Hospital, with his loving family by his side.

Born on July 4, 1957, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Lucy (Hunt) Baldwin and the late Wilfred Baldwin.

He was a graduate of Fort Edward Union Free School. Sam worked for over 30 years as Head of Mechanicals for Cifone Construction in Queensbury.

On December 2, 2018, Sam married the love of his life, Carielyn Bombard, in Fort Edward.

In Sam's younger years, he was an avid bowler. He loved to sit by a fire and listen to music, he could do it all night. Growing up he had a huge train display. His love of trains and has remained to this day. He loved spending nights with his wife in the hot tub. Being with family brought him pure joy, especially his grandson Ryan, who meant the world to him. Sam was an awesome dancer sometimes losing a few articles of clothing. His favorite dance song was " Old Time Rock and Roll. "

In addition to his father, Sam was predceased by his maternal grandparents, Nelson and Beatrice Hunt; his paternal grandparents, Daniel and Mamie Baldwin; and his parent-in-laws, Peter and Pam Bombard.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carielyn; his children, Anna (Jeremy) Szkopiec, Michael (Sarah) Smith; his grandson, Ryan Samuel Szkopiec; his mother, Lucy Baldwin; his siblings, Dan (Mary) Baldwin, Mary Hall, Sherry (Mickey) Genier, John (Barb) Baldwin, Ron (Teri) Baldwin; and his aunt, Sue Gilbert; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

We would like to thank his nurse Ashley on Tower 3 for taking such good care of Sam and his family, you are truly an Angel.

Friends and family may call from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the M.B. Kilmer, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward NY 12828. A service will begin after calling hours.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
