<p>James Odie Glenn, 85 of Van Buren passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024. He was a highly decorated retired Sergeant Major in the United States Marine Corps. serving in the Vietnam War, after his service time he continued serving through education teaching and becoming a principal. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Anna Mae (Howrey) Glenn; three brothers John Jr., Warren “Buzz” and Thomas Glenn.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be 11AM, Friday, March 15, 2024 at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with military honors under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife Gaye of the home; one daughter Leigh Ann Sanders and husband John of Wister, Oklahoma; one sister Margaret Vandever of Tulsa; two grandchildren James Ryan Vandever and wife Danielle, and Ann Elizabeth Vandever and fiancé Derrick McDonald; five great-grandchildren Braden, Jenner, Connor, Riker and Makaila.</p><p><br></p><p>Pallbearers will be the Marine Corps.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
