<p>Mary Ann Leggin, 78, of North Scranton passed away Sunday, March 10th at the Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in death by George, her beloved husband of 55 years. She was a life-long member of St. Anthony’s parish and later Mary, Mother of God parish in Scranton; and a member of the Christian Mother’s Society.</p><p>Born in Scranton, daughter of the late John and Gertrude Sconda Trunzo, she was educated in the Scranton schools and an honors graduate of Scranton Technical High School in 1963. She started her working career with Bell Telephone Company in the directory department. After working at Bell, she left to raise her two sons, later returning to work at Rea and Derick Drug Store (then CVS) for 28 years. </p><p>She married the love of her life, George in 1967. Together, they built a loving home where anyone was welcome. They enjoyed traveling to numerous locations with family and friends. Trips to casinos were a frequent destination. She also enjoyed keeping in contact with her extended family, sharing family news with everyone.</p><p>As a mom, she was always there to provide a calming influence, advice, and discipline. She was always in the stands cheering her sons and grandsons proudly. She enjoyed spending time with her family and Sunday dinners were a mainstay. Mary Ann was an avid New York Yankees fan and rarely missed a game.</p><p>Also surviving are sons Brian Leggin and wife Denise, Trooper, PA; and Alan Leggin and wife Lucyann, Scranton; grandchildren Justin, Matson, Nicholas, Mark, and Anthony; sister-in-law Jeanne Trunzo, nieces Andrea Trunzo and Kristen MacDonald; brother-in-law Steven Leggin and wife Barbara, New Jersey; sister-in-law Maryann Berry and husband Ray, Scranton; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Nick Trunzo; sister-in-law Dolores Micknick.</p><p>The funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, March 19th, from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St., Scranton. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects Monday, March 18th from 5-7 pm in the funeral home and prior to the mass.</p><p>In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association of Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware (https://diabetes.org/local/eastern-pennsylvania-delaware).</p><p><br></p>
