<p>Queensbury</p><p>Janet “Jay” (Cook) Grabowski, 58, of Queensbury, NY, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at</p><p>her home.</p><p><br></p><p>Born on December 12, 1965, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Clifford Cook of Fort Edward</p><p>and the late Marlene (Jones) Cook.</p><p><br></p><p>Janet was a 1984 graduate of Fort Edward School where she earned her cosmetology license.</p><p><br></p><p>She married the love of her life, Richard Grabowski, on October 13, 1984 at St. Joseph’s Church in</p><p>Fort Edward. They have owned and operated Amore Pizza in Queensbury for 34 years.</p><p><br></p><p>When she wasn’t working with her husband, Janet had been a stylist at Mickey Choppa’s Hair Styling</p><p>Team in Queensbury and then worked for 20 years as a receptionist at Adirondack Animal Hospital.</p><p><br></p><p>Janet loved spending time with her family especially her husband, daughters and grandsons. Some of</p><p>her favorite things to do as a family were playing tourist in Lake George, going to festivals such as</p><p>LARAC, movie nights and family vacations. She loved traveling to York Beach, Maine and going to</p><p>Salem, Massachusetts during Halloween. She loved her late night talks with her oldest grandson</p><p>Damien. Her grandsons were the apple of her eye.</p><p><br></p><p>A quiet redhead with a quick wit, Jay welcomed family to her home for holiday dinners as well as</p><p>seasonal gatherings. Her home was always decorated for every holiday, from Valentine’s to</p><p>Christmas. Her favorite holiday was Halloween, for which she went all out, including a 6’ tall</p><p>mechanical skeleton tending bar and many one of a kind items that she created. She loved crafting,</p><p>going on cruises with her husband, brother-in-law and sister-in-law and friends. She surely loved</p><p>curling up on the couch with her dogs and a good scary movie.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her mother, Janet was predeceased by her sister, Rhonda Sharp; her parents-in-law,</p><p>Edward and Loretta Grabowski; her niece, Casey Lynn Gamblin.</p><p><br></p><p>Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 39 years, Richard; her daughters, Nicole Armour,</p><p>Christina Grabowski; her grandchildren, Damien Grabowski, Ryder Armour, and Edward Grabowski;</p><p>her father, Clifford Cook; her siblings, Rosemary Viele (Joe), William Cook (Peggy), Kathleen</p><p>Archambault (Jim), Andrew Cook (Diane); her brother-in-law, Richard Sharp; her brothers and sisters-</p><p>in-law, Joseph Grabowski (Debbie), Marianne Gamblin (Michael Flower), Wayne Grabowki (Lorie),</p><p>Donna Kemmer (John), and Karen Tarantino (Joseph); several nieces, nephews, and cousins.</p><p><br></p><p>Friends and family may call from 4-7pm on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home,</p><p>82 Broadway, Fort Edward NY 12828. A service will begin after calling hours.</p><p><br></p><p>Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.</p><p><br></p><p>Donations in Janet’s name can be made to a charity of one’s choice.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
