Charles Wyatt Reid, Jr., 87, of Fawn Grove, PA, passed away at home on Sunday, March 10, 2024. He was the only son of six children born in East Stroudsburg, PA to his late parents, Charles Wyatt and Mary Katherine (McClain) Reid. His beloved wife, Barbara Jane (Hughes) Reid, survives him at home.

After graduating from East Stroudsburg High School, Charles went on to pursue his Bachelor’s Degree from Ursinus College and his Master’s Degree from The University of Maryland. Charles began his teaching career at the South Eastern School District, in the chemistry and physics departments. While there, he also coached basketball and was the Athletic Director. He ended his distinguished and tenured career with South Eastern School District as the high school administrator.

When not educating, Charles loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed talking with family members and sharing family history. He will also be remembered as a bit mischievous, always enjoying hearing and telling a good joke. He especially treasured his time in the outdoors, gardening, hunting and fishing. He crafted his own fly fishing lures and hand loaded his own ammunition. He was a member of Hopewell Fish and Game and Old Home Hunting Club.

In addition to his beloved wife, Charles is survived by his children, Brian E. Reid, of Chester Springs, PA and Jennifer Campbell (Mark Watkins), of Red Lion, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kayla and Joshua Campbell, both of Red Lion. Many nieces and nephews remain to cherish his memories.

Charles was predeceased by his parents and son, Steven W. Reid.

A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 10:00 am until 11:15 am at Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., 600 Main Street, Delta, PA. A Memorial Service will begin in the chapel of the funeral home at 11:15 am. Pastor Jane Harrison, retired Pastor of Fawn United Methodist Church will officiate. A private inurnment will take place at the convenience of the family.
