Carolina Barbieri

<p>Carolina Barbieri, 81, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024, peacefully in her sleep.</p><p><br></p><p> Born in Marano Principato (CS), Italy on November 4, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Sabatino and Carmela (Bilotto) Savaglio. On December 1, 1963, she married the love of her life Luigi Barbieri in Italy, and they were happily married until his death in 2022. In the mid 1960’s Carolina, Luigi and their daughter immigrated to the United States. </p><p><br></p><p>Carolina was a seamstress for over 35 years. During her career in America, she co-owned a tailor shop in Zion, and Waukegan Illinois. She was active in her faith; she was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, where she volunteered at the Church’s festival and was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Ladies Society and Our Lady of Holy Rosary Ladies Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends celebrating special life events, gardening, cooking, crocheting, and traveling to California and back to Italy.</p><p><br></p><p> Survivors include her children, Rosanna (Romualdo) Molinaro, Lisa (Anthony Streit) Barbieri, and Carmela (Roberto Piolanti) Barbieri; grandchildren, Dr. Jessica Molinaro, Jacob Streit, Sofia, and Massimo Piolanti; brother Vincenzo (Anna Maria) Savaglio; brother-in-law, Peter Barbieri, and sisters-in-law, Concetta Mondelli, Anna Maria (Joe) Ramunni, Ada Cirillo, and Liliana (Pierino) Calonico, and many nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p> Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gilda Bilotto, sisters-in-law Ersila Gora, Sr. Venanzia Barbieri, and Carmelina Barbieri, and brothers-in-law Armando Bilotto, Giuseppe Cirillo, Mariano Barbieri, and Frank Mondelli. </p><p><br></p><p> Visitation will take place at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1919 54th St. Kenosha, on Friday, March 15, 2024, from 10:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Carolina Barbieri, 81, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024, peacefully in her sleep.
