Lyle Roy Bell Obituary

Lyle Roy Bell, 74, of Bridgeport, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Morrill County Community Hospital. His funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Bridgeport Church of Christ with Pastor Jonathan Seng officiating. Interment will follow at Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery in Bridgeport. Viewing will be on Thursday from 3-6pm at Bridgman Funeral Home in Bridgeport. It is respectfully requested that in lieu of any flowers, memorials may be made in care of Lyle’s family to be designated at a later time. Lyle Roy Bell was born January 16, 1950 at Scottsbluff, NE., the son of Roy and Nellie (Reid) Bell. He has 3 siblings Leon (Arlene) Bell, Dean (Laura) Bell, and Rena (Mike) Locker and numerous nieces and nephews. He was raised and educated in Minatare, NE., graduating in 1968. He was united in marriage to Lavonna Dunn on October 30, 1971, in Minatare, NE.


Throughout Lyle’s life he grew up farming, worked in the oil field for 20+ years, delivered fuel and propane locally, and then did trucking with his son, he then worked for Darrell Blackstone until he fell ill. Lyle loved model trains and gardening.


Lyle has four children Ann (Matt) Brown, Tracy (Billy) Warner, Tammy (William) Gregory, and Steven (Angie) Bell. Lyle had numerous grandchildren Randy (Melanie) Brown, Angela Brown, Ryan Brown, Travis Warner, Brittany (Nick) Parisi, Tiffany (Garrett) Pedersen, Dakota (Belle) Gregory, Tyler (Sam) Gregory, Joshua Gregory, Justin (Courtney) Gregory, Sean (Kodi) Gregory, Sierra Bell (Blaize Simones), and Austin Bell. Lyle has 15 great grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Nellie Bell, his brother Leon Bell, his daughter Ann Brown, his niece Shelley Locker, his son-in-law William Gregory, and other nieces and nephews.
