Frederick “Fred” Kline

<p>Frederick “Fred” Kline, a cherished family man known for his kind and friendly nature, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the age of 91.&nbsp; Born on September 17, 1932, in Bethlehem, to the late Herman and Arlene (Fritchman) Kline, Fred’s life was a testament to his dedication to family, friends and community service. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Fred graduated from Bethlehem Technical School in 1950 and continued his education at Lafayette College. He honorably served in the United States Army, as a member of the Military Police. After his service, Fred worked at Bethlehem Steel from 1950 to 1984 in the IT department.&nbsp; He then joined Allied Personnel Services, a company founded by his wife Sadie, where he continued to contribute his computer and analytical skills for 22 years until his second retirement in 2016. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Fred loved his family and friends, always willing to lend a hand or share his vast knowledge. He was the beloved husband of the late Sadie O. Kline and loving father to his daughter Kathleen MacDonald, and husband John, as well as to his son, Ronald Kline and wife Susan. He is also survived by his sister Nancy Mitchell, and was preceded in death by his sister Doris Rice. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Fred found great joy and love in being Pop Pop to Michael, Colleen and Daniel MacDonald, and Teresa and Matthew Kline, spending many hours enjoying activities with them.&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Throughout his life, Fred was very involved in his beloved Pocono community, Conashaugh Lakes.&nbsp; He served as a Board member with terms as President, Vice President and treasurer, along with volunteering on various committees, including the Design committee where he reviewed and approved builders' blueprints. Fred enjoyed traveling with his family to various destinations such as Stone Harbor, NJ and Smugglers Notch, VT along with taking road trips with his grandchildren. Fred was also an avid bowler with the Bethlehem Steel league for over 55 years, allowing him to continue long friendships with coworkers from the Steel. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Fred’s life was a reflection of his never wavering core values depicted by his dedication to family, friends and community. His warm smile, generous spirit, and insightful stories he shared will be missed, but his legacy will continue in the hearts of those who loved him. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Services:&nbsp; A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:30 A.M. until time of service. Burial with Military honors will follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery.
