Gram

It was like she came straight out of a story book,

The typical gentle, curly-haired, grandma look.

She sat in her chair, rocking and singing to our babies.

She gathered at her table and played cards with her ladies.

She bragged about her children, their children, and their children too,

Her walls full of family pictures, precious memories for her to view.

She was warm and welcoming, and a friend to all,

On your birthday, she was your singing teleGRAM call.

She cherished every holiday with her family, as loud as that may be.

She welcomed every relative or friend with a hot coffee or tea.

She was a warm bowl of chop suey or a hot shepherd's pie.

She was a feeling of home, a safe place to laugh or cry.

She will be missed and our world’s may never be the same,

But she wouldn’t want us to cry or weep when we hear her name.

She would want us all to laugh and love a little more,

To gather and remember the graceful, Lucille Moir.
